Terms of Service
Government of Uganda · MyGov UG · Effective January 2025
Please read these terms carefully. By using MyGov UG, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself. These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and the Government of Uganda.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MyGov UG, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws of the Republic of Uganda. If you do not agree, you may not use this platform.
2. Eligibility
MyGov UG is available to Ugandan citizens and legal residents aged 18 and above who hold a valid National Identification Number (NIN) issued by NIRA. Non-citizens with valid permits may access limited services.
3. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for: • Maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN and login credentials • All activity that occurs under your account • Providing accurate and truthful information • Reporting unauthorised access immediately via the Security Center Sharing your account credentials is prohibited and may result in account suspension.
4. Permitted Use
MyGov UG may only be used for lawful purposes including applying for government services, accessing your own documents, queuing at government offices, and communicating with government agencies. You may not use this platform to submit false information, impersonate another person, attempt unauthorised access, or disrupt services.
5. Service Availability
The Government of Uganda makes reasonable efforts to keep MyGov UG available 24/7. However, maintenance, system updates, or circumstances beyond our control may cause temporary unavailability. We are not liable for service disruptions.
6. Document Authenticity
Documents uploaded to your MyGov UG vault are stored for your convenience. MyGov UG is not responsible for verifying the authenticity of documents you upload. Government-verified documents are clearly marked. Uploading fraudulent documents is a criminal offence under Ugandan law.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, logos, government seals, and platform design are property of the Government of Uganda and may not be reproduced without written permission from the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Government of Uganda is not liable for any loss or damage arising from: • Reliance on information provided on the platform • Service unavailability or delays • Decisions made by government agencies regarding your applications • Unauthorised access to your account where you failed to maintain credential security
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall be resolved under Ugandan jurisdiction in the courts of Kampala, Uganda.
10. Changes to Terms
The Government of Uganda reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of MyGov UG after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Significant changes will be communicated via the Announcements section.
